Notes
The Vespa 125 Sei Giorni (SG) was introduced in 1951 as a factory competition model developed specifically for the International Six Days Trial (Sei Giorni Internazionale) held in Varese, Italy. Based on the Vespa Sport, the model featured numerous racing-oriented modifications including a larger external fuel tank mounted between the rider’s legs, lightweight components, exposed handlebars, and revised engine tuning for endurance competition.
Piaggio entered a factory team against purpose-built motorcycles and achieved an unexpected success by winning 9 gold medals during the event. This victory helped establish Vespa as a capable endurance and competition machine rather than merely an urban scooter.
Approximately 300 units were produced, making the Vespa 125 Sei Giorni one of the rarest and most collectible production Vespas ever built. Today, original examples are highly sought after by collectors and are considered a milestone in Vespa racing history.
